Brown retreats into Brownspeak, ignoring calls to stand down
As a bitter war of words rages over his future, Prime Minister Gordon Brown was speaking to a CBI dinner in Scotland last night, where he ignored calls for him to stand down and retreated into what we at PATC call Brownspeak.
He said: “While never complacent about our economic prospects, I am also cautiously optimistic about the long-term resilience and underlying strengths of the British economy because at root our economy today is better placed to weather any global storm than it was in the Seventies, Eighties or early Nineties.”
